The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), officially known as the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates, is a prominent humanitarian organization based in Abu Dhabi. Established on January 31, 1983, with the support of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the ERC has been instrumental in providing aid and relief both within the UAE and internationally. It gained international recognition as the 139th member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on August 27, 1986.
